Down Day

I told you, even though the time changed I did NOT get an extra hour's sleep, I got another hour added to a hectic day.  I am really tired today, not sure why but feel like I am fighting something.  Not sure if I will work out tonight.  I already did a 3 mile walk and part of it was backwards.  I don't remember who suggested this retro walking (I think that's what it's called) but it was a very good workout!  My legs can feel it.  Shane you should give it a try, walking buddy...

Here's a good article to spice up you're...... walking workout

Be happy...

Walking backward = recipe for disaster for an uncoordinated person like me! :-) Interval walking is another story though. Good article - thanks for sharing.

I saw the retro walk post that Ellen at Fat Girl Wearing Thin. I have been meaning to try it too apparently it works muscles you don't even know you have. I remember when I was in high school my P.E teacher used to make us run backwards that was so difficult!

Did you do this in public? It sounds like somebody's playing a prank on you !!

seriously, I've seen that on Biggest Loser but afraid to try it on the treadmill myself. Most of my running/walking this time of year is done in place (which is better than the buffet, I suppose) inside in front of the Wii.

So glad you decided to try the retro walking! I wasn't sure if anyone would actually try it. It really does take coordination. I have again tried talking on the phone while doing it and I simply cannot without falling off! One thing you may want to try that I forgot to post: raise your incline to around 3 or 4 while doing it because it will be easier on your back.

You are doing so great. I do the backwards walking but not because I read it anywhere's. I never knew anyone else that did it. I just felt that if a locamotive needs to run backwards sometimes to unwind then it's got to be good for a person too. Never said I was smart in thinking or reasoning. :o)
I just finished up a couple of post I've missed and am so impressed with all that you've been doing. I am so proud of you. You keep working like this and you'll be on a Mediterranean cruise in no time. You already are a role model to others. I bet your son is watching your every move and you'll be coaching him without even knowing.
Okay, my kids need me. Take care and have a blessed day today.
